As an active young composer in the Canadian classical music scene, André McEvenue has collaborated with numerous artists, including the Array Music Ensemble (Fantigue 2019), Vaso String Quartet (String Quartet 2018), and Reverb Brass (Whorls 2017). His works have been frequently premiered at the Newfound Music festival in St. John’s, NL: (Moirai 2016, Shai’Hulud 2015, Structures in the Sand 2014), where he has also been featured as a young composer in the Tuckamore Music Festival (Somewhere Between Us 2017). Following the completion and premiere of his master’s thesis composition in 2018 (Capriccio for Mixed Ensemble and Piano), André is now continuing his education at the PhD level in composition at Western University. He will appear next as a young composer in the 2019 Orford Summer Academy (Synaptic Étude 2019).
